Specifically for Men

To think about...

When you decide to become sexually involved with your girlfriend, there are some important issues to think about, you may also get her pregnant.

Condoms and other birth control methods can fail and cannot guarantee that your girlfriend will not become pregnant.  As a matter of fact, thousands of young women in this country face unplanned pregnancies each year.

There are some serious questions a guy needs to ask himself if he is going to be sexually active.

1. If your girlfriend became pregnant would you leave her?
2. Are you ready to support a child with your time, energy and money for at least the next 18 years?
3. Will you go with your girlfriend to tell her parents the news?
4. Are you willing to give your child a two-parent family?
5. Know that you have no legal say in the choice your girlfriend makes with the baby. She may decide to keep the baby or to have an abortion.... In either case are you prepared to live with that decision for the rest of your life?
6. Would you be willing to release your child for an adoption?
7. Are you willing to learn about abortion so that you can anticipate possible medical complications and possible relationship problems?

If you are not ready to be a father, you may want to wait to have sex.

The responsibilities involved in bringing a child into the world will affect you for the rest of your life.

Are you already experiencing an unplanned pregnancy?
